Exegetical Roadblocks: Israel and the Church

As we begin our study of The Revelation, it is vital that we acknowledge the many roadblocks we face in rightly interpreting its meaning. Chief among these roadblocks is contemporary theology which, through its lack of adherence to the clear meaning of Scripture, has resulted in many views widely held by the modern church which were completely unknown prior to the 1830s. We will start our study with a look at the relationship between Israel and the Church, exploring the various theological views as well as the real-world impact these views have on many of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our primary concern, above all, is submitting to God’s Word on these matters and allowing it to speak its truth to us, since our views on this topic greatly influence how we read this book.
