The Author and Finisher of Our Faith

As we conclude our study of Hebrews, we will turn our attention to the last few chapters and the author’s exhortation to hold firm in our faith. At the center of this message is a single statement that embodies the paradox of our Christian walk: Jesus has both founded and perfected our faith, and yet commands us to purposefully run the race before us with endurance. This may be difficult for us to fully grasp, but let us not go the way of so many before us and simply land on one side or the other – Scripture presents both as equally and mutually true. Let us then prayerfully press in, that God may open our minds and hearts to not only accept, but rather, purposefully walk in this tension – and in so doing, embrace all of the strength and encouragement that He has provided.
