Justification By Faith Alone

A little more than 500 years ago, on October 31, 1517, a German monk by the name of Martin Luther posted his 95 Thesis which outlined his fervent disagreement with the Roman Catholic Church – chief among these disagreements was the church’s teaching on justification. Merit, either earned or bought, was the redemptive currency of the day and its rampant abuse was the primary motivator of Luther’s protest. Today, in the face of well-entrenched doctrine to the contrary, we must be just as motivated and committed as Luther and the other Reformers and loudly proclaim “Sola Fide!”
