Filthy Rags

In Isaiah 64, the prophet equates all of our so-called “righteous” deeds with filthy rags. We will dive deeper into the precise meaning of this verse on Sunday, but suffice to say – God does not hold our good works in high regard. So where then does that leave us? How do we reconcile the directive to be good and do our best with Scripture that says we can never be good enough? We kick off a new series this Sunday that focuses on salvation and how often we allow worldly influence to shape our understanding. God has given us all we need to rightly understand the gift He has provided, yet we seem bent on rewriting it all to further satisfy our pride.
