Easter Sunday

As a culture, we have done our very best to convince ourselves that our sin is really no big deal – after all, we’re human, right? We are indeed human, but our sin is, in fact, a very big deal. It separates us from our Heavenly Father as it has all who’ve gone before us – all the way back to Adam and Eve. This fallen flesh, in and of itself, cannot bear to be in the presence of our holy God, so He gracefully shielded His children for their protection – for thousands of years. But this was not how He wanted it to be. Through all of the covenants God made with His people, He proclaimed that He would be their God and they would be His people. His desire – as evidenced in the first few chapters of Genesis – was to be with His people. The only way to enable this, however, was to deal with their sin – once and for all.
